Obituary for Robert Jackson Kerns, Sr.

Robert Jackson Kerns, Sr., 73 of Charles Town passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 in the Flowing Spring Nursing and Rehab Center, Chambersburg, PA. Born August 23, 1944 in Leesburg, Virginia he was the son of the late Harry Kerns and Anna Belle Tarman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ranson. Robert was a truck driver for Waste Management.
He is survived by his loving wife Emma Virginia McDaniel Kerns at home, sons, Robert Kerns, Jr., Willard and Edward Kerns, all of Charles Town and Ricky Crum of Marlowe, daughters, Barbara Kerns of Charles Town, Lisa Kerns of Virginia, Sheila Holmes of Charles Town, Rita Crum of Harpers Ferry and Candy Spence of Inwood, brother Eugene Kerns of Winchester, thirty grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, William and Jesse Kerns and grandson, Ricky Lee Crum, Jr.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Ranson with the Reverend Michael Withem officiating. Interment will be in the Uvilla Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the Jefferson Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family.
