Obituary for Louise Elizabeth Burgess (Griffith)

Louise Elizabeth Burgess, 87 years young, of Kearneysville, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018.

Born September 20, 1930 in Saltville, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Griffith and Mary Christine Griffith.

Louise was a member of Crosspoint Church of God. Mom was a great mom and friend, with a grateful open heart and a determined spirit with a stir of feistiness.

She is survived by her children, Mary Matilda Ousky of Marion, Virginia, Helen Lambert and husband, Harry of Charleston, Tennessee, Andy Burgess, Jr. of Kearneysville, West Virginia and William A. Burgess and wife, Barbara of Archdale, North Carolina; three sisters, Katherine Cissel and husband, Robert, of Bluemont, Virginia, Patricia Collins and husband, Vic of Bethesda, Maryland, and Mary “Cookie” Rogers and husband “Skeets” of Charles Town, West Virginia; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Marvin Burgess; two brother, John and Raymond Griffith and one great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2108 at 5:00PM at Cross Point Church of God, 3066 South Child’s Road, Kearneysville, WV 25430 with Rev. Harold Newsome officiating. Family will receive friends from 4:00PM to 5:00PM prior to service.

Interment will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery Friday, February 9, 2018 at 1:00PM in Glades Spring, Virginia.
