Obituary for James Thomas Croson

James Thomas Croson, 87 of Kearneysville passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at his home under the care of Hospice and surrounded by his loving family. Born May 1, 1930 in Lovettsville, Virginia he was the son of the late Lewis David Croson and Mabel Florence Ridgeway. He was a member of the St. Thomas Lutheran Church. He worked as a animal technician for Hazelton Laboratories. He was a member of the Charles Town Moose and the Brunswick Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine May Smith Croson at home, son, James Timothy Croson and wife Teresa of Harpers Ferry, step son, Charles Williams and wife Stacey of Bakerton daughters, Janet Fellers and husband Norman of Martinsburg, Brenda Gain of Inwood and Julie Lewis and husband Kevin of Kearneysville, step daughters, Catherine Lakin of Jefferson, Maryland, Frances Burdette and husband Donald of New Windsor, Maryland, Betty Hammond and husband Greg of Charles Town and Brenda Boyer of Kearneysville, sisters, Bernice Stallings of Purcellville, Virginia and Betty Sheets and husband Russell of Vienna, Virginia, son in-law, Greg Mills, grandchildren, Jamie Croson, Austin Croson and Ethan Gano and numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by daughter, Nancy Mills.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Jefferson Chapel with the Reverend Diane Day officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel.
