Obituary for Charles William Brown

Charles William Brown, 91, of Martinsburg, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.

Born March 11, 1927, in Berkeley County, he was the son of the late Murrel and Retha Brown.

Charles attended Martinsburg High School. He served honorably in the United States Army as a member of the first U.S. occupation forces of Japan during World War II. He was a retiree of Dupont where he worked as a laboratory analyst at the Potomac River Works plant until 1986.

He is survived by his son, Eric Brown and wife Renee; three grandchildren, Ethan, Zachary, and Meghan; one brother, Murrel Brown; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ella Jane Brown, a brother, Paul Brown, and two sisters, Lillian Whittington and Yvonne Brown.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, October 22 in Rosedale Cemetery.
