Obituary for Samuel Martin "Hopper" Canby
Samuel ‘Hopper” Canby, 74, of Martinsburg, passed away Friday, December 13, 2019 at his residence.
Born September 15, 1945 in Martinsburg, WV, he was the son of the late Lee and Elsie Canby.
Hopper’s heart has always been in the mountains and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his children, Rhonda, Crystal and Sam Canby; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Jockheck and husband, Scott; one brother, Frank Canby and wife, Maureen; and son-in-law, Nathan Albert and wife, Crystal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim, Leroy, and John Canby.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel with Ronnie Shifflett officiating.
Interment will be in Tuscarora Presbyterian Cemetery.
