Obituary

Thomas Lynn Catlett 67, passed away December 3, 2018 at Berkeley Medical Center.

Born May 19, 1951 in Martinsburg WV, he was the son of the late Irvin and Oneta (Stotelmyer) Catlett.

He was a member of the Vanville Church of Christ for sixty-seven years, was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and helped with the youth group. He was a graduate of Martinsburg High School. He was compassionate about visiting people at nursing homes and hospitals. He loved his nieces and nephews and enjoyed attending their recitals, games, and concerts. He had a love for nature and took daily walks with friends and family. He was a Musselman High School sports fan where he parked cars for football games. He was a constant giver and loved his family. More importantly he loved Jesus and witnessed to everyone. Tom was greatly loved and will be missed by all.

He is survived by three sisters Linda Kisner, Cindy Walker, and Cheryl Owings; two brothers Hannis Catlett and Ronald Catlett.

Services will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Vanville Church of Christ at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Vanville Church of Christ.

My deepest sympathy to all the Catlett family. Will forever remember all the good times we had with church activities. Tom was definitely a one of a kind, who didn't just talk about his love of God, he walked in it each day of his life. Please know that God has opened his arms to Tom and said "Enter in good and faithful servant. Rest now knowing you left your mark on so many people on this earth. Definitely was a servant of our Heavenly Father.

Condolences to the family of my friend, Tom Catlett.

I knew Tom only through my association with the Harry and Rosalie Grove families and particularly through my Son in law, Jim and his son Eric. Nevertheless, I came to consider him a good and steadfast friend and always enjoyed his presence at Grove family get togethers and at ball games featuring Eric and his other "nephews" and young friends.

Tom was as decent, caring and selfless as any individual I've ever had the pleasure of knowing and I will surely miss him.

Please take solace in knowing he is now in that better place and comfort in knowing that the reason he will no longer walk among us is that his Lord and Savior had reason to bring one of his most faithful servants home.
