Obituary for Roger FrancIs West Jr.

Roger Francis West, Jr., 68, of Ranson, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the Hospice Inpatient Facility. Born December 14, 1950, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, he was the son of Violet Alice Thatcher West and the late Roger Francis West, Sr.
Roger was of the Christian faith and was an honored Navy veteran. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, “Pa,” uncle “Buster,” and family man, which was defined by who was in his ever-expanding circle. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a real people person. He never met a stranger and would make friends wherever he went. He was an avid New England Patriots fan, “even,” as he would say, “during the bad days.” Roger loved music. He sang and played guitar in his band “Seed,” along with his “brothers by choice” Arthur Arruda and Raymond Medeiros. He retired from PCTel as an electronics technician.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife and best friend of 44 years, Sandra Kay Briggs West; daughter Sarah R. Krutsinger, and husband Bradley and his precious grandchildren Roger and Arthur, of Charles Town; sister, Bonnie Brow, of Massachusetts; beloved sister Violet “JoJo” Sylvaria, and husband Ellie, of Fairhaven, Massachusetts; several cherished nieces and nephews and his prized fur baby girl Zoe.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mark West.
A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
Thank you to Hospice of the Panhandle, Nurse Jenna from 3 East at Winchester Medical Center and Dr. Frederick Kozlowski for their care of Roger West from his family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430, or to the Briggs Animal Adoption Center, P.O.
