Father Lawson was our priest at St. John’s for several years and what a special priest he was. He was there in are happy times, including baptizing our three grandchildren and officiating our son and daughter-in-law in renewing there ten year marriage vows. He was also with our family during sad time in the loss of our brother and brother-in-law and was always there to listen and comfort. We know that there is a special place for Father Lawson in heaven. Wayne and Cyndy Kitchen

Friday morning we said farewell to Father Lawson. He fostered, mentored, and helped to shape my life as a priest. He helped me to persevere, to learn, and to love as Jesus did. He was my friend, even when (especially when) I needed firm guidance. He treated everyone with respect and kindness. He loved and honored his mother Isabell, his wife Ruby, his daughter Karla, his step-daughter Georgette, and all his children. He loved the people in his congregations. He was a faithful shepherd, a devoted father and husband, and a delighted grandfather. Good-bye for now, Victor. Thank you for your friendship, your encouragement and your honesty. I could not have done it without you. Whatever has been useful in my ministry reflects things I learned from you. God bless your continuing journey to His nearer presence. Georgia Caldwell DuBose+ (and with much love from Bob DuBose)

I will never forget the compassion of Rev. Lawson. His heart was a true gift. And more, I learned about the love of God through Rev. Victor Lawson, and I was resistant. He knew it. Sometimes, I am still learning, and I often think of Rev. Lawson's words. He baptized my son many years ago, and I am so thankful for that one act and his words that day. You see, my son is special needs, and Rev. Lawson was the right man for the job. I believe the world who knew Rev. Lawson was blessed to have him. Heaven gained a wonderful man. Thank you, Rev. Lawson.

Ruby and Family, Please know that my heart goes out to all of you. Vic was my friend, pastor and "homeboy". He brought me to the Episcopal Church was his understanding and humor. My memories from Our Saviour are special. Fred and I remain deeply grateful that he endured his back pain to officiate at our wedding. We share January 1943 birth dates and also made a point to call/write/email in that month. I shall miss him. In fact, I already do. God bless
