Obituary for Diane Marie Grimes
Diane Marie Grimes, 61, of Winchester, VA., passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 at Blue Ridge Inpatient Hospice Facility.
Born March 15, 1958, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Franklin Grimes and Elizabeth Haas Grimes.
She was an active member of St. Leo Catholic Church.
She graduated from Martinsburg High School class of 1976, where she excelled in basketball and softball. Diane was an avid golfer and enjoyed all sports and she also loved to travel. She earned her undergraduate degree from Immaculata University and her post degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Diane had been employed with Winchester City Schools as an Occupational Therapist.
She is survived by four siblings, Richard J. Grimes and wife Ginger, Mary Pat Grimes Frankenberry, Janet Grimes Powers and husband Ed, Darlene Grimes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother in-law, William “Bill” Frankenberry.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Brown Funeral Homes’ South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at St. Leo Catholic Church with Father Alfred Obiudu Celebrant. Interment Prayers will be offered at St. Leo Catholic Church Cemetery.
