Obituary for Debra Jean "Debbie" White (Walters)

Debra Jean Walters White, 66 of Charles Town passed away Monday, May 13, 2019 in the Williamsport Retirement Village under the care of hospice. Born September 12, 1952 in Ranson she was the daughter of the late Ethel Louise Wilt Wean and Harold Eugene Walters. Debbie graduated from Charles Town High School class of 1970. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, board member and taught tiny tots program. She was a member of the Moose #1028 and their Academy of Friendship. She was former Jaycette. She was Jefferson County Little League past vice president and treasurer and midget basketball league cheerleading mother. She was Eastern Panhandle Tennis Director, ladies tennis league and member of the Jefferson County Memorial Park Board. Her most proud accomplishment was creation of the Jefferson Junior Tennis program of Jefferson County and coach for ten years. She was an apprentice Funeral Director at the Jefferson Chapel for over 25 years. She was past member of the Eastern Panhandle Funeral Directors Assoc., She is survived by her husband of 47 years, David White, one daughter, Shannon Kitchen and husband Matthew of Seven Lakes, North Carolina, one son Shane White and wife Regina of Charles Town, half brothers, Bill, Danny, Doug and Mark Walters and half sister Denise Michalski, grandchildren Micahla and Megan Kitchen, Alexis and Laney White and Bailey and Carley Smith, brother in law, Doug White and wife Patsy and nephews Patrick, Jason and Ryan White.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Melissa C. Rudolph officiating. Interment will be in the Edge Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m Monday and two hours prior to service. In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Eastern Panhandle Region, 484 Williamsport Pike #129, Martinsburg, WV 25404.
