Stacey Blake Smith, 56, of Martinsburg passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019.
Born October 17, 1962 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Robert A. Smith and Ramona Clara Hess Smith.
Stacey was a 1980 graduate of Hedgesville High School. He attended West Virginia University where he studied Business. He was employed by Apple Valley Chevrolet Toyota in Martinsburg and was co-owner and operator of Stephens City Plaza. Earlier in his career he worked with his brother Gregory at Hess Concrete and Finishing.
Stacey was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed being outdoors. He participated in numerous fishing contests and hunted annually with his family. He had a love for gardening, cooking, and sports: New York Yankees, WVU, and Green Bay Packers. He was known for growing beautiful flowers and tomatoes annually. His kind heart will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by two brothers, Mickey Warren Hess and Gregory Scott Hess and wife Kit; nieces and nephews, Krista Kidwell and husband Bret, Brian Hess and fiance’ Beth Markley, Allison Barrett and husband Josh, and Jennifer Hess; great nieces and nephews, Ian Kidwell, Ava Kidwell, Brody Kidwell, Trenton Hess, Joshua Barrett, II, Madison Barrett; and a number of cousins; and special aunts Pauline Ellis and Helen Hess.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Bradley Douglas Hess.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 2:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Randall Coyle officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
