Obituary for Leslie Irene "Les" Mason (Shears)
Leslie “Les” Irene Mason, 73, of Ranson, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019, at the Winchester Medical Center. Born May 9, 1946, in Keyser, she was the daughter of the late Eloise Zelma Pancake Shears.
Les was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She liked spending time with her family and shopping. She graduated from Keyser High School in 1964, and was a member of the VFW Post 3522, the American Jackson Legion 71 and the Moose Lodge 948. She had worked as a parking attendant for the Charles Town Race Track.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Alcana Mason; two sons: James “Jimmy” Mangold, Jr., and wife Cindy, of Kearneysville, and Jon Mangold, and wife Sheryl, of Charles Town; two daughters: Kathy Mangold, and boyfriend Rick Mocarski, and Karen Mangold, all of Ranson; two brothers: Larry Shears, Jr. and Mike Shears both of Keyser; two sisters: Linda DeShong, and husband Gary, of Westernport, Maryland, and Beverly Mangold, and husband Rocky, of Keyser; three step-children: Debbie Messick, Tammy Bass and Dave Mason, four grandchildren: Kayla Meehan, Katie Mangold, Corey Mangold, and Hunter Muse, and her first great grandchild is on the way.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold “Clifton” Shears.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home with the Dr. Henry Christie officiating. Interment will be private.
