Obituary for Marvin Cleveland "Sonny" Greenfield
Marvin Cleveland Greenfield, 87, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019.
Marvin was born on August 17, 1931 in Martinsburg.
He retired from U.S. Army and served in the Korean and Vietnam War and received 2 Purple Hearts. He retired from General Motors after 20 plus years of service. He owned Misty Dew Farms where he was a breeder of race horses.
He is survived by one son Richard May, Sr. and wife Carolyn of Martinsburg; one daughter, Vanessa Banks of Martinsburg; six grandchildren, Stephanie Sisler, Vickie May, Charlie May, Desiree Shane, Misty Dawn Greenfield and Stephenie Rae Banks-Burrell; fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley “Sammy” Lee; one grandchild, Richard May, Jr. and one sister, Letetia Zidak.
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Brown Funeral Home. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Rosedale Cemetery.
