Jacob Bernard Sykes, 92, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019.
Born on August 28, 1926 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Louis Sykes and Minnie Hurwitz Sykes.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by one daughter, Cheryl D. Sachs and husband, Steven I. of Martinsburg; grandchildren Louis Sachs and wife Angela, Wayne Sachs and wife Kayla, Ashley Sykes and partner Meredith Brown, Ryan Sykes and wife Jessica, Megan Sykes and fiancé Matthew Popovich, David Sykes and Hallie Sykes; great-grandchildren Renee Sachs, Samantha Sachs, Alexander Sykes, Alicia Sykes and Gracie Sykes; and his companion Sandy Serino.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Etta Portney Sykes; two sons, Max B. Sykes and Mark P. Sykes; one brother, Harry Sykes and one great grandchild, Camryn Sachs.
Services will be scheduled at a later date.
