Obituary for Lloyd Eugene "Hank" Snow

Lloyd “Hank” Eugene Snow, Sr., 88, went home with his Savior on Monday, September 30, 2019.

He was born on May 15, 1931 in Martinsburg, WV and was the son of the late Andrew Jackson Snow and Sadie Maude Southern Snow.

He shared sixty years of marriage with his wife, June Frances Snow. They were married in Hagerstown, MD on May 24, 1953. Hank attended local schools and was proud to attend and be a member of Grace Wesleyan Church Martinsburg which he faithfully attended.

Hank enlisted in the US Navy November of 1951 and proudly served his country four years. He then enlisted in the Martinsburg Army National Guard, serving twelve years. Hank was employed and retired after 30 years from Corning Glass Works.

Lloyd enjoyed fishing, pitching horseshoes, and deer hunting with his sons and their friends. His love for softball started in his early teens, pitching many winning games, the last being Corning Glass, winning the trophy retired at age 57 due to his wife’s health issues.

He is survived by three sons, Raymond Wayne Snow and wife Kathy, Jeffery Scott Snow, Sr. and fiance’ Angie Snyder, Tracy Lynn Snow and wife Melinda; one daughter, Debra Irene Snow; one loving daughter-in-law, Denny Snow; a special niece whom Lloyd loved as a daughter, Mary Irene Morrow Johnson; nineteen grandchildren, Carla McCarty, JR Snow, Niccole Gaynor, Raymond K. “Fred” Snow, Andrew Scott Snow, Jordan Snow, Jared Snow, Dusty Mason, Karen Shade, Annie Snow, Aisha Porter, Chris McDonald, Jeffery Snow, Jr., Steven Snow, Michelle Snow, Jessica Bitteri, Jason Butts, Evelyn Grace Snow, Heather Ponton and Justin Ponton; thirty three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and two very close pals Ronnie Norton and John Roach.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June; three sons, Lloyd “Snowball” E. Snow, Jr., Ernest H. “Frost” Snow, and Steven “Chubby” Chris Snow; one great-grandson, CT Compton; three sisters; and three brothers.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 1:00PM with Rev. Karen Shade officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00PM. Military graveside service will be held in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
