Obituary for Henry Matthew Woodard
Henry Matthew Woodard, 83, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019.
Born on August 25, 1936 in Engle, he was the son of the late Amos Henry Woodard, Jr., and Marjorie V. Pomeroy.
He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the Mannings Assembly of God.
He is survived by one son, Stephen Woodard, and wife Roxana; one daughter, Sharon R. Kilmer and husband, Randall; two grandchildren, Heather Franks, and husband Michael, Matthew Woodard; two great grandchildren, Kiersten Franks and Katelyn Franks; five sisters, Naomi Costello of Summit Point, Reba Presgraves of Berryville, VA, Aretta Cook of Harpers Ferry, Barbara Painter of Charles Town and Janet Stout of Brunswick, MD.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Dolores Hess Woodard; three brothers, Dale, Amos and Calvin Woodard; and one sister, Elizabeth Leake.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Pastor Raymond Martin officiating. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the chapel. Interment will be at Pleasant View Memory Gardens with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association National Capital Area Chapter, 8180 Greensboro Dr., Suite 400, McLean, VA 22102.
