Obituary for Gladys Goode Frazier (Whitmore)

Gladys Frazier of Charles Town and a resident of Heritage Hall Assisted Living in Leesburg, Virginia passed away at the age 90 on November 18, 2019 from complications of Alzheimer’s.
Gladys was born in Kabletown, West Virginia to Emma Goode and Garland Mitchell Whitmore on February 26, 1929. She was a graduate of Charles Town High School and devoted her lifetime to raising a family. Gladys was a positive and extraordinarily caring women of strong faith and integrity who put the needs of her family before her own. Loved and admired by all who knew her, she was a model wife, Christian role model and caring mother. In addition to raising her family, she was a long-time member of Tri State Baptist Church and was deeply involved in church activities and played the piano for many years. Her other interests included reading the bible, ironing clothes, gardening, baking and trips to the Beach with family. She grew up on a dairy farm and would frequently reminisce about her life as a “farm girl”. The hard work of the farm instilled a dedication to faith, integrity and hard work. This character trait was instilled in all the children.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Buddy Frazier, a sister, Eleanor VanMetre, a brother, Paul Whitmore and a daughter in-law, Sue Frazier. She was blessed with a daughter, Sharon Shull and husband Lewis of Charles Town, three sons, William “Bill” Frazier of Bowie, Maryland, David Frazier and wife Angie of Winchester, Virginia and Dwayne Frazier and wife Carolyn of Nokomis, Florida. She was also blessed with 6 grandchildren, Will Frazier, Nicholas Frazier, Kristin Lovelace and husband Will, Brandon Frazier and wife Anne, Bryan Frazier and wife Hollie and Sheri Stidham and husband Danny, 7 great grandchildren, MacKenzie Littleton, Trenton Littleton, Hayden Myers, Harper Lovelace, Brantley Lovelace, Henry Frazier and Maddux Frazier and also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tri State Baptist Church located at 642 Somerset Boulevard, Charles Town, WV. Pallbearers will be the grandsons and two great grandsons. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church. Burial to follow at Edge Hill Cemetery.
