Obituary for Dorothy Elizabeth Blue (Perks)
Dorothy Elizabeth Perks Blue, 94, of Kearneysville, went into the arms of Jesus, on Monday, January 13, 2020, while at the Hospice Inpatient Facility.
Born July 13, 1925 in Charles Town, she was the daughter of the late Philip Henry Perks and Ethel Virginia Slusher Perks. She was a member of the Rock Spring Church and was a postal clerk for the Kearneysville Post Office. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was a mother to all. She loved flowers but was an avid vegetable gardener.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy J. Dilley, and husband Wes, of Charles Town, and Tracey A. Dilley, and husband Winston, of Leetown, and two grandchildren, Chad Dilley, and fiancé Angie Donatone, of Charle Town, and Erin Milton, and husband Alex, of Kabletown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Allen Blue; two brothers, Philip and Clifton “Bill” Perks, and two sisters, Betty Rutherford and Jean Giffith.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2 pm, Friday, January 17, 2020 Leetown United Methodist Church with Pastor Debbie Mooney and Pastor Mike Lowery officiating. Interment will be private.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Rock Spring Church, 114 Poor Farm Rd. Kearneysville, WV 25430.
