Obituary for Linda Kay Murphy
Linda Kay Marple Murphy, 72, of Martinsburg passed away surrounded by family on February 7, 2020. Born October 2, 1947 to the late James L. Marple and Marceline Dae Cooper-Marple and granddaughter of Maryann Stum.
Recently retired from the Berkeley Plaza Theater that she enjoyed as a second family. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey “JD” Murphy of Martinsburg, daughters Dana L. Shirley and Brooke N. Beard with husband Justin of Martinsburg, close friends Cassandra L. Mello of Martinsburg and Shelby M. Mullenax of Martinsburg. Her brothers Curt D. Marple of Martinsburg and Jerry L. Marple with wife DeeDee of Richmond, Va. Her grandchildren Shane, Tanner, Esme’, Halle and Camden of Martinsburg and a great number of nieces and nephews.
Linda enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren who loved going to Nanny’s house. In her younger years, she enjoyed outdoor activities either swimming at the pool or beach, tanning or taking rides with her brother Curt. Sundays were spent watching her Redskins and WVU was life.
Linda was proceded in death by her beloved sister Vicki L. Marple Church.
A Memorial Gathering will be held Sunday, February 23, 2020 at OatesDale Park building for 3:00 PM.
