Obituary for L. Steve Hammond
L. Steve Hammond, 71, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.
Born March 30, 1948, he was the son of the late Preston Hammond and Leora Hammond.
He was a Charter Member of AMVETS Post 30, Inwood. He was proud of his occupation as a boiler maker and he was also an avid Ravens fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Francis Charlene Bennett; and two sons, Steven Shay Hammond and Larry Chad Hammond.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 11:00 AM
at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood. Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the chapel. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors.
Current Officers of Post 30 will be serving as Honorary Pallbearers, Cathy Barrett, Barry Mills, Bill Brown, Mike Barrett, Tony Mills, Dan Waters and Chris Randall.
