Obituary for Harry "Buddy" Deward Everhart

Harry “Buddy” Deward Everhart, 96, of Hedgesville passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020 at the VA Medical Center.

Born September 15, 1923 in Hedgesville, WV he was the son of the late Harry Thompson and Mary Kitchen Everhart.

Harry was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a member of the B-17 bombing crew. He was a POW. Harry earned several medals including Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart Medal, American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, and World War II Victory Ribbon.

He was a life-long member of Tomahawk Christian Church, a life member of DAV; and a charter member of Tomahawk Ruritan Club.

He was the last of his immediate family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene B. Stuckey Everhart; one son, Jeffrey D. Everhart; and one brother, Max Henry Everhart.

Out of respect and concern for public health and safety, the family has chosen a private graveside service to be held at Tomahawk Cemetery.

Memorial service with military honors will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Tomahawk Christian Church with Pastor Chris Thornton officiating. Interment to follow at Tomahawk Cemetery.
