Joseph Ralph  Potter
Joseph Ralph Potter, 90, of Bunker Hill, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Berkeley Medical Center.

Born June 22, 1926 in Hedgesville, WV. He was the son of the late William Conrad Potter, and Gustave “Gussie” Shepherd. He served stateside at Patrick Air Force Base during the Korean Conflict as Airman First Class chauffeuring 5-star generals, lieutenants, and dignitaries as well as being an ambulance driver. He received a National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Additionally, he was an accomplished diesel engine mechanic receiving training at the Utilities Engineering Institute in Chicago. He worked at Mack Trucks of Hagerstown for 22 1/2 years as a Diesel Engine Tester & Repairman. In the spring of 2016 he attended his 75th Class Reunion of Hedgesville High School.

He is survived by two sons, Jay Potter and John Potter (Eloise); two daughters, Cathey Sprenkle (Steven) and Lisa Markley (Kenneth); six grandchildren, Kenneth Markley, II, Rachelle Henderson (Knight), Raelyn Forero (Isaac), Ryan and Riley Sprenkle, and Logan and Sophia Potter; and great-grandchildren, Rylen and Kellan Henderson, Gage, Alexis, Jessica, Hunter and Hannah Markley, and numerous neices and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his previous wives, Betty, Ruth, and Charlotte and dear friend and companion Daisy Lucas. Additionally, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Delores, Milton, Willie, Margaret, Hebber, Opal, Mildred, and Paul.

The Family will receive friends on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August, 27, 2016 at 11:00am at Brown Funeral Home with John Street officiating. Interment will be in Tomahawk Presbyterian Cemetery.
