Roy Franklin  Schoppert Jr.
Roy Franklin Schoppert, Jr., 84, of Martinsburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 25, 2016, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center.

Born January 26, 1932 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Roy Franklin Schoppert, Sr. and Mary Stanley Schoppert.

He was a member of, and also served as a Deacon for, the Pilgrim Presbyterian Church.

He retired with 22 years of service in the U. S. Army and served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He later worked for AT & T.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Grapes Schoppert; children, Roy Franklin Schoppert III, DDS, Monica Dawn Schoppert; three grandchildren, Roy Franklin Schoppert IV, Shad Michael Schoppert and Mindy Jill Schoppert; six great-grandchildren, Lillie Jane Schoppert, Connor Jacob Schoppert, Braeden Nathaniel Schoppert, Gabriella Rose Lopez, Alethia Grace Schoppert and Ethan Michael Schoppert; a sister, Dorothy Hudspith; and brother, William M. Schoppert.

In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Richard Lynn Schoppert; two brothers, James and Charles Nelson Schoppert; and two sisters, Nellie Schoppert Triggs and Mildred Lorraine Shade.

Family will receive friends and relatives from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Brown Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 2. 2016, at the funeral home with Dr. Jerry Mead officiating.

Military graveside services will be held in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
