Obituary for Robert L. Bohrer

Robert L. Bohrer, 89, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Clary Grove Nursing Home in Martinsburg, WV.
Robert was born to the late Earl Robert and Mamie Ethel Dellinger Bohrer, August 18, 1928 in Neals Run, WV. He attended Forest Hill School on Arden Road. Robert was employed by Interwoven Mills in Martinsburg from 1947 to 1965. He retired from full-time employment at Royce Hosiery Company in 1995. Robert continued to work part-time at Weis Markets for another nine years. Robert loved his two church families: Johnsontown Church of the Brethren and Fellowship Church of the Brethren. He was a deacon at Fellowship Church of the Brethren, choir member, and custodian for 14 years.
Robert was married 59 years to Rebecca Elizabeth Seeders Bohrer. Rebecca preceded him in death on August 6, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lewis Edward Bohrer.
Robert is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Darlene and Thomas Russler of Forest Hill, MD and his son and daughter-in-law: L. Craig and Robin Bohrer of Bunker Hill, WV. Sisters: Ethel Irene Slonaker of Glengary, WV and Retta Jane Staubs of Martinsburg, WV. One brother: Richard Odell Bohrer of Selbyville, DE. Grandchildren: Jason P. Vanorsdale of Sioux City, SD, J. Aaron Russler and Justin B. Russler of Forest Hill, MD, L. Anna-lise Bohrer of Martinsburg, WV, Christian A. Bohrer of Bunker Hill, WV, Ashley R. Rohrer of Martinsburg and Daniel W. DeRito of Bunker Hill, WV.
Friends and family are invited to Robert’s viewing from 3:00PM to 5:00PM on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood, WV.
Funeral services for Robert L. Bohrer will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 1:00PM at Fellowship Church of the Brethren, 505 Blossom Drive (off Rt. 11 South from Tabler’s Station Road) Martinsburg, WV.
Serving as pallbearers: Aaron Russler, Justin Russler, Lewis Staubs, Billy Slonaker, Ed Linton, David Pittsnogle and Jason Vanorsdale.
Honorary pallbearers: Gary Walls, Marvin Wilson, Jim Chapman, and Gerald Staubs.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Church of the Brethren, 505 Blossom Drive, Martinsburg, WV 25405.
