Obituary for Douglas Allen Ross

Douglas Allen Ross, 71, of Martinsburg passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Winchester Medical Center.

Born July 4, 1946 in Oak Ridge, TN he was the son of the late John Ross and Veronica Husarchik Ross.

Growing up in Weirton, WV, he worked with his father in the electrical trade. After graduating high school, he served in the US Army stationed in Germany. He earned his B.S. from University of Maryland.

Doug lived in Germany for 20 years working as a civilian with the defense department. Upon returning to the United States he started his own business. He loved his life and he took his fun with him wherever he went. He had a hardy, quirky laugh and a sense of humor to match. His ever growing curiosity led him to acquire numerous skills which he liked to share with others. Among his interests were repairing watches, bicycling, exploring small towns, yard sales and flea markets.

He is survived by his wife, Janeille Yvonne Sigler; his children; Christopher Ross (Tiffany); Carolyn Ross Wood (Jason); six grandchildren; five brothers, Richard (Margaret), Charles (Suggie), Donald (Gloria), John, and Joseph (Tricia) Ross; and one sister, Claire Kuhns (Ron).

He was preceded in death by one sister, Karen Moskal.

Services and interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements by Brown Funeral Home.
