I was shocked to read about the passing of Brian. I remember him as a guy who didn’t complain, but inspired others with his gritty determination. I never heard him criticize his teammates, but I saw him go out of his way to encourage and praise players. He was a leader of our team and a great captain. In 1971, I played semipro ball with him and he was the same “chief.” He never changed. He had the same wry smile and the same steady confidence. My deepest sympathies go out to Brian’s family. He truly was one of the good guys, and he left this world way too early.

Hi Rod:
Quite a shock to learn of Brian's passing. I will send out a message to the SAE brothers as I see you have sent out news to his Bullet teammates. Chief looked so healthy and happy at Reunion Weekend. Glad Brute arranged for him to meet us for breakfast on that Friday and he was able to spend time at the House before returning to Pam.

Thank you for the sad update, Brian had such a good time gathering all of the team information at the Library and checking the newspapers
for more info. He sat there for hours smiling and sharing tidbits. We had a good time, and it was a true labor of love for him.
