I first met Rocky in the 1970s. There had been a significant snow fall in Martinsburg and he and his children had driven Vicki to work at what was then known as City Hospital. I had been on call the past 24 hours and was ready to leave but was hesitant about driving on the snow covered roads. He saw me in the lobby and offered to take me home. In the years after that our paths crossed many times when our children were active in rec league and high school sports and then again when he was active in the Apollo Civic Theatre.
