Saying farewell to a friend such as Jim (Chief) Roberts is never an easy thing to do. Especially when you admire the man is much as many of us did him. Jim was one of the first troops I met when I joined the 167th in 1970, & he was also one of the finest people I met too. I will remember the years Jim & I coached the "Colts" Midget League football team in Martinsburg forever. I also enjoyed the many historical stories Jim told of the times at the 167th ANG long before I had joined, & also his times spent hunting in Hardy County. I always admired his determination & drive to make things better. Jim was a true "Get'er Done" & "People Person" in many ways. In fact to this day I can still hear him saying "Outstanding". He will be greatly missed by many. God Bless you James.. Amen. (Our Condolences to his wonderful, & special family.)

To The Entire Roberts Family,
Your All in my Thoughts and Prayers. It has been such an honor to have been in the presence and to know Chief Roberts and to call him MY FRIEND. There are many people you meet in a lifetime who impacts one’s life and he was that special person in mine. I met him over 30 years ago and he has always been such a great role model to me and I have always admired his Patriotism, his love for his family, his military family and his church family. I just thought the world of him and I will truly miss him. He meant the world to me and to his Family he left such a wonderful legacy for you all to carry on. He will forever remain in my heart. I love you all and I’m praying for each one of you at this difficult time.

Love always
